This facility provides healthcare services for people with addictions. There’s no emergency department at this location.

The PACT Team is available for mental health emergencies in Grande Prairie between 9 am and 9 pm, 7 days per week. The PACT Team is one RCMP officer and one nurse who can come and meet you or someone you care about in an emergency situation. They will assess the situation and provide:

• A referral to the most helpful service
• Transport to the hospital when needed

The Grande Prairie Needle Distribution Program is accessible in three ways.

Office: Safer inhalation Supplies (foil, bulb pipes, straight pipes), Safer Injection Supplies (Needles, steri-cups, sterile water, citric, ties, filters, alcohol swabs and sharps containers) and Naloxone is available during regular business hours.

Outreach: The outreach teams carries safer injection supplies, naloxone, and foil on weekday afternoon and evening outreach to the downtown core.

Pharmacies: Safer Injection packs are made to include ten needles, steri-cups, sterile water, citric, filters, alcohol swabs, and three different ties. Smaller needle disposal bins are also available at pharmacies as well. Participating pharmacies are found on our website – www.northreach.ca

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions.

Mobile Addictions Outreach (MAO) provides street-level front line services to the people of Grande Prairie experiencing homelessness, substance addictions and mental health issues. Our MAO staff provide one to one service through referrals and cold calls they receive from the community. They work closely with other agencies within our community.

To Teach how to ask about suicidal thoughts and to reach out to help friends and family members find the support and resources they need to live healthy, productive lives.

The family/community liaison program is designed to offer support for children, youth, families and school staff with the general goal of improving the student’s personal, social and academic success. Our liaisons can assist students with problem-solving skills and the ability to provide support and resources to students, teachers and caregivers.

CFS offers a sliding fee scale to clients who do not have health insurance, cannot afford to pay full fee for services, or have insurance that does not cover certain services. The sliding fee scale is not accessible to other agencies. Clients covered by insurance/benefits must utilize full benefits prior to the sliding fee scale assessments.  Insurance fees are $100/per session

Students and families having trouble at home or school can access information and support from the Community School Liaison Program. We work together to help students and families thrive by learning new skills or getting the support they need. We have community school liaison counsellors in many schools in the County.

You can trust the skills and knowledge of our counsellors. They have professional training and are members of the Alberta Association of Family and School Liaison Workers. For more information you can e-mail the Community School Liaison team or reach by phone at 780-532-9727.

Our mandate is to provide a holistic treatment, counselling and physician services for patients with opiate addiction and mental health issues with the goal of a healthy Alberta. Our care providers work with community support groups to ensure a stigma-free environment that encourages flexibility in meeting the needs of all individuals, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, gender, age, or socioeconomic status.

All Grande Prairie PCN programs and services, including the After-Hours Clinic, Persistent Pain Program, Primary Care Support Program, and GP PCN Administration are located at 104-11745 105 Street in the Oak Ridge Business Centre near the entrance to Royal Oaks.

At some point in our lives we all have stressful times. We can be impacted by such things as financial pressures, unexpected difficulties, unemployment, or stressful situations such as the current outbreak of the COVID-19.

Support is available from Alberta Health Services (AHS) Addiction and Mental Health, although how the services are provided may have changed.

AHS has resources and services, such as Text4Hope and Togetherall, available to help you or someone you know. Remember, if you are struggling you are not alone. There are supports in place to help you.

• Free Wi-Fi and public computer access. Wi-Fi is available 24/7.
• Climate controlled building: Warm place to be on cold days and in poor weather, air-conditioned in the summer.
• Naloxone kits are available on site.
• AED (automated external defibrillator) on site.
• Project Full Stop is an ongoing initiative at the library to combat Period Poverty. Free period products in all GPPL washrooms.

To improve access to justice by increasing the scope and availability of pro bono legal services for people of limited means ineligible for Legal Aid in Grande Prairie and surrounding communities.

Inclusive post-secondary education is an agreement between Inclusion Alberta and Grande Prairie Regional College. Through inclusive post-secondary education, Grande Prairie Regional College supports students with developmental disabilities to realize and achieve their educational and career goals.

GPRC has many connections to the community through services and events. Our facilities cater to everyone. From musicians mixing in the recording studio, climbers belaying in the climbing gym, theatregoers taking in a musical stage production, and summer campers building lego projects.

Provides assessment, treatment, programs, and education for children and adults who have, or are at risk of developing, communication delays or disorders. Assessment and treatment of swallowing problems is also offered.
